Nestled on the serene shores of Estepona, Costa del Sol, La Calma is a contemporary reinterpretation of traditional Andalusian architecture — a residence that harmonises timeless simplicity with precise, subtle detailing. Perched just steps from the beach, this exceptional home opens towards expansive views of the Mediterranean Sea, with the iconic silhouette of Gibraltar Rock gracing the distant horizon.
La Calma was a renovation where it is conceived as a composition of solid volumes and generous spaces that embrace a profound relationship between interior and exterior. Its architectural language melds classical restraint with thoughtful design: clean, sculptural forms are enhanced by expanses of glass that let light traverse the home and frame the spectacular surroundings. Carefully placed openings ensure that every moment is connected to the sea and sky, accentuating the beauty of both natural light and the panoramic views.
The design emerges from the site itself — celebrating its strengths, adapting to its microclimate, and exploiting the surrounding landscape to create a dwelling of rare presence and belonging. Light plays a central role in the spatial experience; windows are positioned to reveal vistas, encourage movement, and compose rooms that feel both luminous and intimately connected to the coast.
La Calma stands as a refined expression of Mediterranean living: simple in essence, rich in spatial experience, and undeniably respectful of place — where architecture becomes a quiet celebration of its context.
