This house is located on the rocky side of the
coast of Duino, in the province of Trieste. The surrounding environment, the
nature of the place, and aboveall, the relationship with the sea, and the
whiteness of the abrupt calcareous rock, plan a project modelled on three
levels following the steepness of the side.
A tribute to Mediterranean architecture, the
heritage of the "latin" villas and also the attempt to combine
rationality and poetry. The building is covered with stone and wide glass
windows look out to the South. It stretches out towards the horizon, where the
sun disappears into the sea.
Three overlapping and rotating simple geometric
volumes meet different functions and uses.
The plant adapts to the limits imposed by the
technical regulations of the local Authorities.
