The very name of the villa "Ice Conyon", which emerged in the process of searching for the visual appearance of the mansion, speaks eloquently of the bionic "streamlined" aesthetic in the solution of its interior. Personally, as an environmental designer, I see nature as the most perfect architect, both aesthetically and functionally. As well as the main source for inspiration, analysis and meaningful imitation. Therefore, from the very beginning of work on this object, namely the redevelopment of the existing boring typical house, the same processes have been virtually taking place in it as in the centuries-old formation of the cañon, only instead of water and wind, the path was paved by the probable flows of people. And this way, accordingly, is as smooth and as short as in nature. There is a practice of planning parks according to this principle: sow the whole territory with grass and give people the opportunity to trample their own paths, and then turn these paths into alleys. Thus, the bionic orientation of the interior, along with the author's aesthetic preferences, is due to ergonomics, and the form-creation here is not a thoughtless stylization of natural forms. This gives grounds for immodestly claiming the status of a harmonious work.
In this publication I would like to present the interior of the first floor - a representative zone of a two-story single-family mansion in an elite residential neighborhood on the outskirts of Lviv. The zones of the hall, living room, dining room and fireplace room are separated mostly only visually, and form one space around the core of the stairwell and fireplace. The existing typical three-step concrete staircase was removed at the client's request, and in its place a new staircase was designed to match the style of the house and its place of honor. Almost all the windows are oriented towards the garden house with a waterfall on the estate, which I designed and which corresponds to the style of the interior. All elements of the interior (all furniture, seven chandeliers and many lamps, all carpentry and metalwork, sculptural elements, stained glass, non-trivial сonstructive solutions, etc. - in short, everything except the household appliances) were created by me exclusively for this object, their realization was carried out under my uncompromising and zealous author's supervision until absolutely satisfactory completion. The rooms are richly saturated with original details, every little detail is given due attention. Utility rooms, such as the checkroom at the entrance and especially the guest bathroom, have also been given exclusive care. The metamorphosis of a small, mine-like room into a spectacular "Through the Looking-Glass" is, in my opinion, worthy of special attention. Unfortunately, in the process of realization due to budget cuts we had to give up the system of luminous paths hidden under the floor covering. Everything else was completed in full compliance with the project. Once again I have to note that the work done can be considered a labor feat, especially considering the peculiarities of our region.
