Villa B&D stands on a gently sloping plot overlooking the Sicilian agricultural landscape. The project involves the renovation of a building with no architectural value, transforming it into a contemporary volume integrated with the natural context.
The volume is reduced in height through the introduction of a flat roof that incorporates solar and photovoltaic panels to ensure energy autonomy.
The outdoor spaces are organized into terraces that follow the natural topography, creating continuity with the house. The openings, consistent in height but varying in width, animate the façades while controlling the penetration of natural light.
The main façade is defined by a corten steel canopy with slender vertical elements, which shelters the living room glazing and creates a portico oriented toward the landscape.
The internal layout separates the living area and bedrooms, oriented westward and opening onto the landscape, from the service areas and kitchen, which are connected to the barbecue terrace with a built-in counter and table at the rear.
The entrance is characterized by a corten steel gate that integrates the entrance door, intercom, mailbox, and utility meters into a single system.
