Magnificently monolithic at first sight, Villa B is a house with an intriguing double identity. From a closed encounter at the front, Villa B gradually opens up its welcoming domestic space towards the garden. The entirely closed facade forms a privacy screen for the interior and garden. The composition in contrasts meets our clients’ wishes for a distinctive home becoming a new take on the classic Munich townhouse.
Villa B owes its majestic presence to its impressive volume, structured into vertical slabs of marble with fine brass lining. Any elements that suggest mechanical or technical movement, such as hinges and sliders, are eliminated by the extremely clear detailing of the facade’s lines and expression.
Passing the entrance, our glass wall ensures seamless transitions between the indoor space and landscape outside. A long corridor on the first floor, along the street façade, gives access to the bedrooms with garden views and balconies. The second floor houses a gym and pool, with spectacular views over the river and park. The basement comprises a dynamic entrance hall - a rotunda - for vehicles, created from soft, sinuous lines and surfaces carved out of wood and natural stone.
Villa B combines the robustness of a neoclassical townhouse with the elegance and openness of a modernist bungalow. The monumentality of major urban architecture and the intimacy of refined interiors are the contrasts which Villa B celebrate its architectural expression of space and devotion to the tactility of natural materials.
