Minimal Architecture in fusion with Tradition
Villa Agavi 3 is a spacious 14-person sea view villa. It is one of the Agavi Villas, a complex of three independent villas with south view to the bay of Kalafatis, the area of Divounia and the island of Dragonissi.
The design main concept was to combine the Traditional Architecture of the island and the modern facilities requested for villas destined to summer rental. The result is an elegant game of volumes between Cycladic style and modern lines, sublimated by a meticulous lighting study and materials choice.
The 25cm width oak solid wood flooring, the cosy wood and linen furniture, the white-washed wooden ceiling, the cement screed floors done according to the local art and the warm lighting gives a sense of luxury but rustic style inspired by the island of Mykonos.
Villa Agavi 3 unfolds onto three levels. In the ground floor lays an open-space composed by a living room with a designed fireplace, a dining room and a second resting living room. The ground floor also includes a fully-equipped modern kitchen and an ensuite bedroom. A cement screed sculptured stair case leads to two bedrooms with living room in the first floor, and three bedrooms with playroom in the lower level, which take light through the pool from impressive windows. In the first floor, a built-in Jacuzzi has been designed as a white sculpture, with as only view the blue Aegean Sea and the sky.
The outdoors areas are designed with the same concept, trying to fold into the natural beauty of the land, with local stone walls and chestnut pergolas with bamboo covering, and an infinity overflowing cement screed swimming pool, surrounded by an anthracite granite flooring terrace.
