It is an intervention followed from the small to the large scale for a private residence in Viale Giacomo Matteotti in Forli. In addition to renovating the entire building, constructed in the thirties, the intervention has also affected the interior design and furniture for the house that occupies the first floor and the penthouse.
Differently from the exterior, where we wanted to preserve and recover the original decoration, inside it was possible to completely reinterpret all the spaces, adapting them to more contemporary needs, in the ground floor, and to residential, in the higher floors.
The residence is characterized by two main floors. The living area occupies the penthouse: a large and unique space, divided (only by the lift) in the living area and dining area. It is characterized by the new ceiling, that is a mixture of steel and laminated wood, assembled on site.
The directional spaces were instead opened on the road and reinterpreted inside, through the realization of small raised platforms, on a structural square module of 2.5 m by side and only 6 cm deep. They are also in steel and laminated wood, assembled on site.
Both the ceiling and the new raised platforms have required a considerable design effort to seek out solutions that would allow to create continuity between the two materials, that is steel and laminated wood.
