Nowadays where the preference for shrillness formal architecture or
excessive refined minimalism is always a pleasure to find customers
interested in the emotions produced by a simple and warm interior. VH house is a return to the essence of
architecture: properly handling of interior space and a delicate balance of
openings to regulate natural light and ventilation that achieved generate a
natural comfort.
The clients, an investigator and a professional pianist, lead a calm
life, there are not spaces to fancy, just to enjoy. The program is developed
in three levels where vertical circulation is design to generate a walk
through the spaces that make it more comfortable.
In the first floor, the conception of space is balanced between social
and private: a large room serves as a
dining room at the same time as the living room, the studio, the music room,
TV area and is supported of an small kitchen with basic and essential
furniture. The interior is connected with the exterior by a terrace that
leads to the street, and far away from looking at the city views it
reinforces the intimacy of the spaces with proper features of a monastic
life. The great large room has a double height that gives a discreet and
controlled access to natural light.
By walking through the staircase
it arrives at a small lecture area with discreet openings to the exterior
that let the delicate entrance of light and achieve a fine link with
exterior. The bedrooms are articulated by a corridor which is always faced
with the double height of the living room; consequently this space is well
illuminated and ventilated. The bedrooms are basic sized for its function,
only the ones that are facing the courtyard are privileged with the exterior
views that are configured as an extension of the interior.
