Vertical Zoo - Ascending Zoo
The Ascending Zoo is a place where nature and human become one. It is a transformation from the horizontal horizon of the reserve to the vertical horizon to the sky- InterweavingThe space for human and nature are interwoven on site. The human stream from city and the natural landscape from reserve converge into a building. It will be a new monument of the urban and the scenic in Puerto Madero.- 6480° PanoramaThe whole building works as a continuous observation decks. Not only each surface follows the ‘Path Spiral’, but each spiral is generated along the ‘Spine Spiral’; it differentiates the view on every floor and provides more natural lighs. Experiencing the zoo is experiencing the surrounding Reserve with Animals. - BarrierlessThere is no fence between humans and animals in this building. They are on different surfaces separated physically but share a same space and communicate with each other. The level difference provides people with better observation and allows animals to enjoy their lives without interruptions. - OptimizationVarious scales of animals can inhabit in the optimized space of zoo. By parametrically differentiating plan area and height of each floor, the zoo includes all customized spaces for small animals to large animals. Likewise, the spaces for human are also generated according to programs.The areas for both spaces are oscilated reciprocally with keeping the similar plan area on each level.
