Vertical Evolution

Vertical Evolution is a skyscraper grown admidst the regular grid of Barcelona's Eixample to perform as a vertical expression within the existing urban fabric. Genetic algorithmic behaviour is defined and modified within a growth environment searching densification, conenctions, scale and intensification's in more than 200 iterations. The therewith selected grammar is maintained while the growth environment is being altered to represent the urban fabric. Environmental analysis guides as a final step the interior zoning map, dictating potential usage on each level of the building according to thermal climate, rather than functional pre-organisation.
