CONCEPT-
A BUILDING SUPPORTED ON A SINGLE COLUMN AND A PYRAMID PLACED OVER TWO CYLINDERS. OUR DESIGN IS A PRODUCT RECEIVED AFTER THE AMALGAMATION OF THE TWO INITIAL IDEAS FOLLOWED WITH A PROCESS OF CREATING IT TO BE A MORE PRACTICAL AND REALISTIC DESIGN. THE IDEA OF CREATING AN EYE-CATCHING STRUCTURE WITHOUT FAKE FACADE TREATMENTS AND DECORATIONS, BUT INNOVATIVELY USING THE STRUCTURAL MEMBERS ITSELF WAS THE PRIMARY CONCEPT OF DESIGNING, AN INFLUENCE FROM THE BRITISH COLONIAL ARCHITECTURE,WHERE SOMETIMES COLUMNS WERE ADDED TO INCREASE THE AESTHETIC VALUE. EXPOSING STEEL TO THE CORE ,REVEALING ITS SUPREMACY OVER OTHER MATERIALS HAS BEEN THE MAIN CRITERIA. FROM THE FLOOR TO SLABS THE ENTIRE STRUCTURAL SYSTEM HAS BEEN SUPPORTED WITH THE HELP OF DIFFERENT STEEL MEMBERS AND CABLES WITH MINIMUM USE OF CONCRETE. FROM THE COLUMNS TO THE TRUSSES ,EVERY ELEMENT IS CONNECTED AND SUPPORTS THE STRUCTURAL STABILITY OF THE BUILDING.LARGE SPAN FREE AREA SUCH THAT EVEN THE SERVICES DO NOT INTERRUPT HAVE BEEN DESIGNED.
DESIGNING-
THE BUILDING HAS BEEN DESIGNED LINEARLY AND SYMMETRICALLY, WITH THE MASSING GRADUALLY DECREASES UPWARDS. WITH THE LARGER SPAN ORIENTED IN THE NORTH SOUTH AXIS ,THESE TWO SIDES ARE ALSO KEPT OPEN TO ALLOW CROSS VENTILATION IN THE STRUCTURE THE REST OF THE TWO SIDES HAVE TRUSSES CONCEALING THE COLUMNS AS WELL AS SUPPORTING THE FLOOR AND THE FALSE CEILING ,GIVING LARGE SPANS OF COLUMN FREE AREAS. ALSO A SCOPE FOR FUTURE EXPANSION HAS BEEN CREATED IN CASE OF INCREASING REQUIREMENT.
INTERNAL LAYOUT:
THE INTERNAL LAYOUT AS WELL AS THE STRUCTURAL LAYOUT OF THE BUILDING HAVE BEEN PLANNED IN A 3X3MT GRID, AND THE FLOORS OF HEIGHT 4 MTS ARE SEPERATED WITH A GAP OF 1MT EACH AS SERVICE AREAS.ALL THE FLOORS ARE MAJORLY CONNECTED WITH A CENTRAL STAIRCASE AND TWO LIFT CORES , AND THE SERVICE AREAS ARE KEPT ON THE SIDES SUCH THAT THEY DO NOT INTERFERE IN THE STAFF MOVEMENTS ALTHOUGH WELL CONNECTED
