Architizer — Description:
Velvet Concrete is a residential interior rooted in the industrial legacy of Zabłocie — a former manufacturing district in Kraków. Instead of referencing this heritage through literal motifs, the project translates its essence into a refined, sculptural language. The result is a calm yet powerful spatial identity where softness and rawness coexist.
The layout is organized as a continuous flow between zones, divided only by transparent thresholds: full-height glass partitions, mirrored arches, and subtle shifts in texture. This openness allows natural light to become a structural element, emphasizing form and guiding movement.
Materiality plays a central role. Concrete-like mineral plaster defines the envelope, creating a monolithic backdrop. Against it, deep graphite cabinetry and linear black detailing act as grounding elements, while brushed gold, soft textiles and curved volumes introduce tactile warmth. The custom dining table, the carved wall composition in the bedroom, and the sculptural lighting pieces function as architectural objects within the interior — furniture as geology and light as craft.
Every detail is designed to be experienced through touch and shadow — reducing visual noise while enhancing atmosphere. Velvet Concrete reframes industrial heritage not as nostalgia, but as a foundation for a more mature expression of luxury: less glitter, more depth. A home that feels like silence carved from concrete.
