The concept of shopping, which is one of the fundamental components of social life, has become widespread in contemporary developments through buildings that establish sharp boundaries with the city, encouraging people to carry out their social activities within enclosed environments. In developments disconnected from the urban fabric, social life remains confined within defined limits. ‘Velux Ankara’ removes these boundaries and draws the urban flow into itself. By positioning itself in an inviting relationship with the street, it ensures the continuity of the street within its own structure and becomes an integral part of the urban flow.
“Velux Ankara” is a mixed-use development consisting of a total construction area of 276,524 m², 14 blocks, and 1,133 independent units. The blocks are planned to reinforce one another, similar to the urban fabric itself. Despite its scale, the project is articulated at a human scale through mass movements, the voids between buildings, and a gradual spatial hierarchy.
