The German town of Vaterstetten held a competition to redesign its town center and to build a new civic hall. KLINGMANN Architects & Brand Consultants designed an authentic town center based on social integration, political equality, and environmentalsustainability through a harmonious string of landscapes and urban spaces. We accomplished this with three interlocking strategies: the creation of an environmentally responsible Green Core; the formation of an urban sequence linking the church, civic center and town hall; and the inclusion of a vibrant, pedestrian mixed-use neighborhood designed at the human scale.
