This is a 2,040 square feet office for the building owner of a real estate group. One third of the window area is blocked by a recently built neighboring building eliminating almost all of the natural light. Our proposal reuses the blocked windows as light fixtures in which newly installed LED lights will synchronize to the light outside to emulate real sunlight. This will allow people to feel the time transition and distribute even luminosity over the office.
Privacy between individual offices is required; partitions will extend to the high ceiling between offices in a series of glazed and solid openings. Towards the reception and workstation areas a clearstory above a fully glazed wall allows light to be shared throughout the space. The glazing and openings keep an open sense within the office. This also allowed the existing AC unit and ductwork to be reused.
