Connecting two ski resorts
The City of Rjukan is located in the Norwegian inland and has a long tradition of trekking, adventure travel and skiing. Currently Rjukan has a lot to offer but it lacks an overall coherent structure.
The main focus has therefore been the uninhabited landscape in between the "Varder" is norwegian for point of orientation - like a lighthouse, and paths are the different routes that connect the two ski resorts. Together the varders and paths ends up in 7 different scenerios/nodes, all placed strategicly in order to create a more coherent structure, and at the same time to communicate the qualities of the landscape in relation to the hikers.
