Valor Middle School is part of a combined middle-elementary school building. The existing 66,000 SF building was constructed in 1997 and is currently serving 689 students grades 6-8. The 22,000 SF Valor Middle School project includes a two-story addition comprised of 20 new classrooms/science rooms to meet the growing enrollment needs of the District.
When Valor Middle School was originally constructed in the 1990s, one wing of the building was left unbuilt due to budget constraints. Now, 20+ years later, the school has an increased demand for classroom space. Taking cues from the original design, OHPD designed a new addition that provides modern educational spaces for the teachers and students of Valor Middle School. The latest research in education and interior design was incorporated in this new building wing. In addition, the school's media center was fully updated with new finishes and a layout designed for the 21st-century student.
