This home for a young Manhattan Beach couple translates the
family’s needs directly into the architecture.
Inverted floor plates provide open spaces on the ground floor while
creating a dynamic building envelope. The project consists of four bedrooms, three
and a half bathrooms, office space, and an open living room, kitchen and dining
area with radiant floor heating throughout.
A large window opening with a retractable glass door opens the
mid-section of the building and allows for additional ventilation and natural
daylighting. The unique characteristics
of the design and rich palette of materials speak directly to the client’s
participation in the design process.
