The projects focuses on the renovation and the interior design of the new recording studio for Vacuum Studio, one of the most interesting independent platforms for indie and hard core music in Italy. The office moves to a former cattleshed in the northern countryside of Bologna: the manger will be transformed into the recording room whereas the annexed storage will be converted into the direction room. The design phase mostly focuses on the improvement of the room acoustic efficiency, with a particular attention to usage of sustainable materials and the optimisation of costs. The works consist on the windows substitution, the installation of new sanitary fittings and facilities in general: the entire space sanification, the realization of a new wood elevated pavement to avoid echo’s phenomena and to guarantee an efficient isolation and to decrease the hygrometric rate, fundamental for the proper preservation of studio delicate equipments; the creation of small boxes to improve the variable acoustic set up and to allow acoustic registrations; the mangers’ transformation into back-illuminated sofas, with room to contain working material.
