design of a vacation house with three residential units
This vacation house is located on a small site with residential streets bordering its two sides. The program consists of three residential units: the larger one on the ground floor and two smaller ones on the first floor, separated by the joint terrace. The urban regulations required the use of pitched roofs and it initiated the two-part division with the monopitched roofs and the terrace in-between which functions as an entry space for the upper apartments with the main stairs. On the ground floor, the central space is accentuated with the foyer, which continues to the dining room and the terrace that both function as an integrated space when glass panels are opened. Thus we obtained required division into two parts: sleeping area and living area. Two smaller apartments on the first floor function independently within their closed perimeters with the shared use of outdoor space. The two-part division of the house is further emphasized with the use of different materials and colours.
