Working by hand and using digital techniques. The patterning of hexagons was developed from an early full scale study model as part of an exercise where a chair was intended to be constructed of styrene strips. Although this study was not structural it lead to many studies of the use of strips and the continuous patterning of hexagonal and triangles at smaller scales. or orb form was developed from the original model through digital modeling and rapid prototyping of laser-cut studies to adjust the form of the chair to be more ergonomic. Finally coming together into a full scale prototype using the same techniques that were studied at the smaller scales.
