Casagrande & RintalaA summer theatre with 400 seats on an island outside Helsinki, Finland. The structure is made out of recycled wood from various construction sites around Helsinki. The construction process is sheduled according to the time-tables of migrating birds using the island. There is no foundation work done - all the structure is tied to the centre of round stage into existing iron anchores used by fisherment to tie off their boats. The structure operates as a drum with the elements of nature playing it. Helsinki Culture Capital of Europe - project.
