Located on a 26-acre site, the Michoud Assembly Facility campus is on the bank of the Intracoastal Waterway and is the USCG’s
largest shoreside facility. This project consists of an Administration
building, Industrial building and Marine structures.The Administration
Building is comprised of a two-story office space with a 3-story
berthing area. This building accommodates 86,000 square feet, housing a
medical unit, dental facilities, office spaces, complete kitchen and
dining facility and berthing areas. The Industrial Building is a
1-story, 64,000 square foot maintenance facility housing support
offices, paint and blast booths, HVAC,
electrical, welding, machine and woodworking shop areas, along with a
shipping and receiving center. The project also included a wharf, pier,
boat lift and flood gate that allows boats to move directly from the
new wharf to the Industrial Building. The project was designed to adhere
to all ATFP Standards.
This project received a LEED Silver rating and is designed to be compliant with ATFP and Progressive Collapse requirements.
