There are a vast number of unused pockets in every city that no one pays attention to. Installations bring attention to these unique places we all take for granted.
The Urban Edge project was a sponsored installation on one of twenty sites in Milwaukee. Our site literally reflected its title due to the edge that is created when the green space breaks the city grid.

The solution to the problem is designed as a one-way edge. Northbound passersby see a defined edge that follows 1st Street and joins with that of the Third Ward. The openings in each object hint at what is occurring behind. By hiding the green space, attention is drawn to what was previously ignored. Southbound passersby are allowed to view the green space unhindered, while revealing the full color gradient.

The objects are sculptural when seen individually, but when viewed as a group a large number of apertures are revealed. This encourages individuals to experience and engage the space in a myriad of ways.
