The proposed narrative experiments an unorthodox mean for
applying a new transportation system – the high speed rails – to an existing,
functioning city as New York. Upgrading the infrastructure of an existing city
requires a radical way of thinking; as normally city infrastructure is applied before
cities are built but here this is not the case.
The logic of applying this merge is not by superimposing the
system over the old existing city urban fabric, but by interlacing the new rail
system into the city body. That resembles a sophisticated surgery operation to
the anatomy of this pulsating city. New York City will be the host body taking
reception of a new injected living system injected inside it unaware of the
complete consequences that would result on it. The process may lead to the
system invading the anatomy of the host leading to its growth and metamorphosis,
which may result in the healing of the city even stronger with a new bionic
anatomy functioning in a way that serves the increasing need for speed of the
coming era.
The manifestation of such an operation is visually applied
in the elevated rails cutting its way through the skyscrapers, invading some
floors in it that allows new programmatic functions to take place that are
needed to fill a huge time gap that would occur in the near age. This cut
through has a clear evidence appears in the bruises and wounds that occurs on
the skyscrapers as normal post-operative symptoms.
