In Project III class, I had the opportunity to study urban planning, specifically the public space. From
here I intend to study and deepen my knowledge about the role of
public space in the architecture, how the appropriations formal or
informal, made by local people to meet their own needs, influencing the
architecture. We
find sometimes that there are "gaps or extensions of the urban
structure and that, over time have been appropriated and used. ...
These spaces never become equal to the significance of the square
because they were not born as such, "only later were they incorporated
as" mandatory part of urban design in the eighteenth and nineteenth
centuries "(in Lamas, Jose Manuel Garcia Ressano. And Urban Morphology Design
of the City (pg.102) The proposal for the area to intervene, is a set
of detached houses linked by a semi-private green space and several
footpaths. tried either typological or morphological references during
execution of work. My research fell
also on aspects that would help me understand and work relationships
with public space and housing appropriations and public modes of
experience.
It was intended by urban intervention, mending the various realities with which we were depa-ing throughout the year. In the area of my choice, I wanted to shoot a neglected parcel of land and rural character and close limits of pre-existing. Is
a set of nine detached houses with two floors, which delimit a visually
semi-private green space, where inside lies a lake that serves as a
liaison between the various houses as well as various walking routes
within the same Green Zone.
