URBAN HYDRO_RHIZOMEThis proposal intends to introduce a new way of thinking abut conceiving the city in terms of inclusive and resilient operational strategies. The main objectif is optimising the interaction between resources ‐ natural, urban and human – and human activity waste, in order to create the conditions for a new and authentically sustainable lifestyle.Ecology, but otherwise An infrastructural ecology. The project explores in an englobing way the concept of urban system: eachcomponent would find its place in an overview that is founded on masteringexchanges of the urban ecosystem, which would also impose the elaborationand creation of resources, by the landscaping of new lifestyles. This, thanks tothe notion of «infrastructural ecology», wider than that of «ecologicalinfrastructure», would not only include construction works, but also the finalgoal of the layout of a durable life system, which can be accomplished thanksto the support of the infrastructure set up by the project. This infrastructureprovides synergies between usual exchanges between Man and materialelements (works, mechanisms, networks) and those of urban lifestyles andlocal resources (natural water, wastewater, renewable energy, waste).A biomimetical urbanismThe urbanism we propose imitates nature in its shapes and its optimisedorganisational principles, especially hexagonal‐based shapes, designed in ordernot to exceed in resources consumption, and rhizomic structures to optimisedistribution of fluids in the networks, as part of a cellular urbanism matrixwhose units fit into each other to give a complex and live tissue.
