The Urban Farming Food Chain was a project in collaboration with The Urban Farming group from Detroit to provide fresh food to populations with little access to healthy alternatives. Robin Osler wrote the program that created a system of vertical food walls, containers that store small gardening tools that display the names of donors and a street level kitchen where local chefs would volunteer their time to teach people how to make meals from the food that has been harvested from the walls. The system has been installed and is in operation at two locations in Skid Row, the Los Angeles County Food Bank and a downtown school.
