Urban Bloom
Urban Bloom is shaped in the form of Bauhinia, the iconic flower which represents liveliness and vibrancy of HKSAR. The shape of each surface of the structure references the shape of a petal of Bauhinia. The white color is the same as the Bauhinia on the HKSAR flag and emblem. There are five petals in Bauhinia but in Urban Bloom there are only four with the fifth petal being the people who circulate and engage in the artwork. They are the ones who give life to the artwork, the real “Urban Bloom”.
Urban Bloom as an artwork is formed by more than one “flower” module as we believe only unity and synergy can bring life and hope to our city. The artwork is also a shelter symbolizing that HK will always be a home for everyone in the city.
