designing an architecture studio in a room of 30 square meters is
a challenge. The space in question is located in Pescara, in a ground floor of
the center. The room is a box of 6 meters by 5, less than 4 meters high.
The concept concern using pure volumes, linear and a well-designed
lighting, with light cuts and bright areas that tend to expand the interior
space.
All volumes are white. The light, spreading evenly in the environment,
stresses with shades the faces and the surfaces of these solids. The focus of the project is a the
"bridge": a shell casing, that advantage of the height of the
environment, creates a space in space, intimate and isolated. A working habitat
integrated into the surrounding space.
The body of the bridge hunts for more than 3 meters and contains
the diffused lighting sister, while the two vertical elements are used
internally as containers with retractable doors. This object organizes the
spaces: creating an area for screenings and exhibitions near the window, an
internal working area, and a small hallway that acts as a filter for the
bathroom.
This solid floats into the room, thanks to the light passing
through the space that separates it from the wall.
The project is complemented by a wall equipped library and a
wardrobe, where the compartments for books seem to have been carved directly
into the wall, and the container's doors form a linear pattern on the white
surface, and from the desk, designed as a two modular tables closed into one so
that all possible configurations of work are made possible.
