PhiloWilke Partnership and Linbeck are providing design-build services for the finish-out of inpatient floors 20, 21 and 22 in the tower on top of the Alkek building. These floors were constructed as part of a vertical expansion project but were left “shelled” for future build out. Our scope of responsibility, with respect to design and construction, covers the existing floor plate, consisting of approximately 47,300 SF, is to improve existing floors 15 through 19 in terms of the basic floor plan and general layout. Substantial design improvements were anticipated to be made to incorporate recommended changes that have arisen from working within floors 15 through 19 since their initial activation.
The space includes infrastructure to accommodate patient rooms, reception areas, support areas, employee break rooms, offices and staff work rooms, consultation and waiting areas patients’ families.
