The University of North Carolina School of the Arts (UNCSA) in Winston-Salem is part of the University of North Carolina's 16-campus educational system. UNCSA added a School of Filmmaking to its arts programs and BAR was selected to design a home for the school. The 74,000 gsf complex includes traditional classrooms as well as highly specialized and technically sophisticated sound recording and mixing spaces. There is also an orchestral scoring stage, three film/lecture theaters, (including projection, machine, and control rooms); extensive post-production film and video editing facilities; writing and studio seminar rooms; computer and photography labs; and faculty and production offices.
