Pavilion originally built for Expo 98 and transposed into Oporto City Park in 2012. The building projects itself in the space creating the illusion of being suspended in the air, challenging our perception of gravity.
It has two levels, with the exhibition area located on the second. The space was designed to operate in its true largeness, promoting flexibility in the occupancy of different experiences, conceived with varying sizes. At the same time we tried to control the natural light and maintain a ubiquitous relationship with outer space, through the rotation of the galvanized metallic sheets that line the facade, functioning as a brise-soleil.
In its interior are found a series of experiments designed by Experimentarium in Denmark by a team led by the physicist Nils Hornstrup and the designer Peter Claudell, forming a set of combinations that play with color, light and sound, producing effects, simulating happenings and explaining different outcomes. All through the water, the only source of energy of the experiments.
