A Dialogue of Aesthetics: Where Two Visions Meet
This project is the result of a creative collaboration between two Ukrainian design studios — 19Buro and SHOVK Studio. Each brought a distinct philosophy to the table. SHOVK is known for its architectural minimalism, pure lines, and precise spatial logic. 19Buro, in contrast, embraces the wabi-sabi aesthetic — celebrating imperfection, aged textures, and natural materials with a quiet nod to Japanese heritage.
The resulting interior is a curated dialogue between the two styles: warm mustard-toned plaster and aged wood form a grounding backdrop for crisp, contemporary accents — stainless steel, industrial lighting, and a sculptural metal staircase. The contrast is not jarring, but harmonious. It’s a spatial narrative where history and modernity meet in quiet balance.
The architects set out to create a space that evokes serenity, not through ornamentation, but through mindful materiality and a sense of calm.
There is no visual noise here — only softness and breath. Every material was chosen for its tactile presence: the cool weight of marble underfoot, the softness of linen and velvet, the raw honesty of wood, natural stone, and metal. These are surfaces you want to touch, not just observe. The space grounds the guest and invites them to slow down.
Sensory Architecture Rooted in Nature
The interiors are designed to feel almost elemental — deeply connected to their environment rather than competing with it. A warm, natural palette runs throughout: textured plaster in earthy ochres, solid wood with visible grain, stone surfaces with a sense of permanence. Low, grounded furniture and a careful play of indirect light create an atmosphere of comfort and depth.
There’s a careful interplay of contrasts — the softness of textiles against the sleek precision of steel; rough, aged textures paired with refined architectural details. Nothing here is arbitrary. Every element serves a purpose.
This is not merely a holiday apartment — it’s a philosophy made physical: a place to reconnect, reflect, and simply be.
