The UIA pavilion is an uncanny visitor in the city of Turin. A memory
collector feeding on the pulse of the city. Its mission is to collect
and store the events of the UIA architecture congress projecting them
back on its surface to inform the visitor. New information makes its
translucent body glow animating its peculiar presence in the city.
The pavilion consists of a cluster of eight irregular “cocoons” hovering
four meters above ground. They are made out of multiple layers of HDPT
recycled translucent plastic sheets in order to provide adequate shade
during the day but also function as a light sign during the night,
making the pavilion visible from a long distance.
