In order to approximate the architectural aesthetic to local construction, we used wood strips, ceramic tiles over an exposed wood roof structure, pitched roof, finished floor directly over joists, short gables. Other characteristics are the use of elementary carpentry techniques, the use of natural un-pigmented materials in their rough state, expecting and wishing for its aging and oxidation process.
The floor plan was designed to trigger social encounters and unexpected interactions. The more social areas are integrated and fluid; the bedrooms are connected by a floating walkway oriented upon the main axis, blending the outside with the inside. The all glass facades boldly showcase the outside and at the same time exhibit the inside of the house bathed in tropical sunlight.
