Two Sheds House

Skagit County, WA, United States

STATUS

YEAR
2018
SIZE
1000 sqft - 3000 sqft
BUDGET
$100K - 500K
Located on a small urban lot in Anacortes, WA
the Two Sheds House takes full advantage of an
upper-floor view that does not exist at ground
level. The detached garage and house, each with
complimentary shed roofs come together to
create a sheltered central court that provides a
flexible, functional, and private outdoor space on
the small lot.

The design approach places the home at the
back of the lot where privacy is maximized;
locates living spaces at the second floor
surrounded by sweeping views of the San Juan
Islands, Mt. Baker, and the Canadian mountains
to the North; organizes the layout around a
central stair leading one efficiently to upper
living spaces and providing separation between
bedroom spaces below.
