The project deals with the design of a summer house in an olive groove. Main concern was to recycle the obtained ground materials and respect the trees, in order to have the less impact to the nature, while focusing totally to the view of the Methoni castle.
The starting point was the evolution of the dwelling of the human beings, starting from the cave, passing to one level stone buildings and ending up to a light flying volume above the ground.
The building rises through the land. Ground which becomes stone and stone which becomes sand. The ground gets shape into a basement, the stone gives form to the ground floor and the plaster stands delicately above them, shaping the second level.
The three level house involves the stages thought which the human being inhabits the nature. From the upper level he observes it, from the ground level he gets acquainted to it and finally through the underground he inhabits it.
The underground part, with the playroom and gym, leads to the pool. The two stone volumes in one part are disrupted to give the most honorable place to a certain olive tree and host the living room and kitchen in one of them and the guest room in the other. A white volume comes to bridge the two stone structures, following the ideal view towards the castle with the two independent bedrooms. A hidden outer staircase slides outside of the white volume and leads to the rooftop.
