PPAG, the inventors of the Enzis, have developed a new, multifunctional piece of urban furniture: every Twins consists of two identical parts which can be connected in two different ways. As the Enzis, a multitude of the Twins can be combined into an almost infinitely number of different shapes of applied geometry. “The changeableness of the basic element doubles the possible combinations. The fact that twice a nearly infinite number equals also an infinite number is no disadvantage for the practicability,” says Georg Poduschka of PPAG. The small basic elements are light weight and can be rearranged quickly into new combinations.
The Twins have been used for the first time in the Culture Park in Kosice/ Slovakia, the center of the European Capital of Culture 2013. A former military facility was converted and restructured by zerozero architects. The outdoor spaces in this new area in the center of Kosice is equipped with 120 Twins in cream white color.
