The client, a musician, sought to transform his 50’s era house with sweeping views of the city into a calm, contemporary, and timeless retreat from the bustle of city life. With 2001 A Space Odyssey as inspiration, the interior’s elegant lines and clean white surfaces evoke a sense of serenity, while turning attention to the views outdoors. White walls and cabinets are contrasted with a deep brown recycled teak floor. The project required strict attention to detail and careful construction management, and we are proud of the results. An additional feature of the project is the inclusion of an acoustically engineered and detailed sound-proof room – where this musician is free to play passionately without the concern of disrupting neighbors.
