“Twelve”, head office of “DI group”, is situated on a key position on a corporate estate. The building is conceived as a periscope, towards the city of Kortrijk. The massive 3 stories high concrete shell, together with the 3m wide column allow the highest level to float 2 levels above ground, cantilevering 7m in total. The spacious entrance provides a high window over 2 levels, offering a view towards the landscape behind. A similar transparency is created throughout the restaurant.
The building functions as a hub. The upper part of the building is used by the owner D.I.group, the other levels, containing meeting rooms, open and closed offices are for rent. The common restaurant and gym function as a meeting zone, allowing a mixed crowd to meet.
The whole building looks a sculpture, by the dominant role of the concrete, and also the cantilevering form of the building. This is in contrast with the sharp finishing of glass and metal.
