The Tuscan
Professional Building,
located in Las Colinas, Texas.
This new 56,000 s.f. professional office building is comprised of two levels of
professional offices, physician’s clinics and underground parking. Jonathan Bailey Associates was assigned by a
group of physicians that wanted to develop and create a new image for their
combined medial practice. Focused on
patient care and community appeal, the owners wanted "a medical office
building with a distinctive cutting edge image." Having found a site with distinct qualities
which included a large slope and undeveloped terrain adjacent to a medical
center, JBA assisted the owner in developing a strategy to best use their site
and provide the necessary amenities for this facility.
With a tight budget and a short schedule,
the design team built the concept of the facility on traditional building
systems, materials that were readily available and sound planning concepts. The building form was generated as a devise
to create a covered parking area with out having to build a structure
deck. The wings were allowed to brake
from the orthogonal grid to reduce impact of the building the site coverage and
create a taller building for neighborhood appeal.
