computationalUrbanism:For many years, there has been gap between the displines such as philosophy, science, and art. This gap remained until the thought of producing inteligence came along. After the invention of the computer, the gap has since almost become non existent. This is a celebration of computational design by creating a method to mark a city by its energy use.thecityFactor:+900 ft. = a superscraper900 - 700 ft. = a suprascraper1 super = 2 supra (by energy critia)Sq. Root of this # = Scraper FactorAlan Turing’s machine was able to rationalize these cityFactors. An old way of thought, the Turing machine was one of the first computers. It uses afunction with varibles and plots thosealong a piece of tape. By using his turing machine, we explored the city’sevolution over time. The citieswere given a code, and the code thus applied to the turing machine.theResults:adcddcbaa= sustainable needs short termb= sustainable needs long termc= monumental urbanism needsd= waste acquire over the timeFollowing the development of the Turingmachine, we see that it later evolves intocellular automata, such as Neumann, andlater into John Conway’s Game of Life.By using this in comboration with the turing machine, we were able to generate an evolving map that fit on the city. Finally, returning to the earlier results ofcity highest energy units and cross referencing it with the evolved maps, we see a hard wired link that will controlthe energy usage of the city. The energy control harvests and maintains for thecontinued existence of the city urbanism.
