Tsukubai - stone bowls are usually made of solid stone and are iconic in
nature. Water enters through a bamboo pipe - kake. Tsukubai provided with
special wooden ladle - tsukubai-bisyaku. Initially, these pools were the
attributes of Buddhist temples in Japan and were used for ritual
washing of hands and rinsing. Tsukubai are an integral part of the traditional
Japanese tea ceremony. Sometimes supplemented kake simple bamboo mechanism that
produces the sound of a specific frequency. On some tsukubai endorse, the
content of striking "try to be content with what I have."
Two current sample were made to order for my sketches at one of the
Makarov District. The reason is that the market is no quality design elements
in the style of Japanese gardens.
