The interior design of the TSU headquarters looks back at the history of e-commerce and its young and energic creative personnel, who have reshaped the way we all live today.
This project is inspired by Silicon Valley and the innovative atmosphere that it offers.
The intention is to understand how architecture can create comfort while allowing any talent to thrive and where human well-being becomes the core value of interior design.
This concept is implemented in different forms in each space of the project by breaking the traditional form of office space and focusing on the user needs.
With this goal, the project is divided into three areas:
The entry space, industrial and formal;
The productive space, warm and welcoming;
And a break and social space, bright and colorful.
From the concrete floor to the concrete wall, the entry space tells the story of the tech space origins.
At the same time, the elegance of contemporary minimalism opens its clean lines to a new perspective, and as a result, spatial freedom inevitably inspires intellectual freedom.
The project uses concrete to draw the line between the different functions, leading the eyes from one area to another.
The concrete is both a raw and an elegant material and its continuous presence sets an underlying industrial atmosphere, where it becomes itself the natural and naked protagonist.
The bare concrete is poured on the floor next to a textile-looking finish material.
The alternating perception of the two materials create a harmony of proximity, thus they complete, enhance and dress each other.
The productive space is designed to stimulate mental focus.
It is a space where staff spend most of their time, therefore, architecture once again uses materiality to create an inspiring atmosphere.
The essence and the surface of wood create a welcoming, warm and comforting feeling.
Wood is chosen for this space because of its ability to change in time, showing its aging process, and acoustic properties.
Wood stimulates the human senses with its recognizable perfume and its texture that encourages touching.
Finally, the break and social space plays with colors and furniture placement creating new perspectives, away from ordinary work, allowing to be in a different state of mind.
The kitchen, tables and chairs are custom-made and they make the space unique.
The craft of Italian and Portuguese artisans was essential in creating the project, which can be seen in the meticulous care for detail. This attention spreads through the entire project, which answers directly to a new way of designing an office.
Therefore, in this space, work is not an intellectual capitalization but, as a famous philosopher once said, what ennobles human being.
