A long line of minimalistic gestures emphasizes the old tree trunks' ornamental and impressive composition.
The sleek trunks create a beautiful contrast with the natural shapes of the woodland edges. And the fields of ornamental grasses are a reference to the lush pastures in the surrounding landscape.
The garden borders a natural reserve. The surrounding landscape is determined by Beech and Birch forests and heather. The design defines a garden that is not subject to time and trends.
The sleek trunk lines contrast beautifully with the natural shapes of the woodland edges. The slopes of ornamental grasses are a reference to the lush moors of the surrounding fields.
The most logical place for the pool would have been right next to the house, but the decision to place the swimming pool deep in the garden changes the perception of the garden as a whole. By making a path to the pool, the emotion of the garden is amplified. The pool and the bathhouse* are now amongst the ornamental grasses next to the edge of the woodland. As a result, you feel a part of nature.
Strong horizontal lines tie the proportions of the house with the proportions of the garden and landscape. Thus, the garden continues in its surroundings and uses horizontal lines to anchor itself into the area.
