Recently awarded by Delhi Architectural Festival, it's a 7000 SQFT indoor sports facility designed for school at Faridabad. Built primarily to accommodate Badminton and table tennis events, the building was designed to also accommodate annual cultural events and functions.
THE CLIENT BRIEF
Fast to execute, Post modern looks, maintenance free yet cost effective; the client's brief reflected high expectations from the design solution. The front setback constraint left just 20" inches of space outside the main structure to give, otherwise a match box structure, an architectural treatment.
THE DESIGN
The 35' high building's main structure was designed in Pre-engineered Building System (PEB) which helped in erecting the main building in just 20 days. The facade is secondary skin designed as undulated geometric ( up to 12") shaped pattern. Executed in Aluminium Composite Panel, the building facade, due to its undulated surface, changes it's shade and shape as the sun moves. The observer finds a different look every hour. also got nationwide recognition at Delhi Architecture Festival for this project.
