The Trinity College Gateway Building provides, for the first time, a physical expression of connection between Trinity College and the University of Melbourne. At over 4500 square metres, the building unites the needs of Trinity’s 300 residents, 50 theological student and 1800 Foundation Studies students, with 25 tutorial rooms and adjoining breakout spaces, drama studios, student amenities and a 300 seat auditorium.
Located at the east corner of the College campus, on Tin Alley, the building replaces a harsh perimeter security fence with an open, welcoming expression of the College’s historic relationship with the University of Melbourne, enliven what has otherwise been a dark and unwelcoming entry to the University.
