After meticulously restoring a local landmark built in the 1890s, the homeowners wanted a compatible one-car garage with an office and covered parking area attached.
The local preservation commission had to approve the designs, which took detail and material cues from the historic home. The commission requested we reuse sliding garage doors from a former garage on the site, so they were mounted facing the house and fixed in place. Access into the garage is via a door on the alley side.
The office has a lot of light and its own 3/4 bath, so can be used as a guest house for visiting family.
