Rebuilding plan for the single family house in the low-rise exclusive residential area.
The request of the client is that the floor configuration and the number of rooms are the same as for the old house, and the area is larger if possible. And rugged, easy to maintain house that is not showy in the surroundings.
On the triangle site, I cleared the shade and setback regulations, and secured the floor space to the maximum extent. Firstly, considering the situation of buildings next door, I decided the placement of the main rooms. Next, I decided the placement and direction of the stairs from the shade and setback regulations. It was fortunate that north is the intersection of the road.
Why concrete?
It can be easily molded making use of plasticity. On the other hand, it is also a difficult material to handle if you think to cast a good concrete at the construction site. As a result, PCa is often used as a general solution. Even though concrete has waterproofness if cast properly, it becomes architecture having many weak joints.
Therefore, in this case, taking advantage of small scale, I aimed to simultaneously obtain the seamless structure, exterior finish and waterproofing. This is because, it is advantageous on a triangular plan. Also, it was possible by designing wall Structure which is not Frame Structure. Regarding special face architectural concrete, While casting at the construction site, I aimed at sharp and delicate expression.
I have carried out all know-how to cast uncracked concrete that I have experienced so far, It realized a solid structure, exterior and waterproofing.
